Doug Kempner began his real estate career in 2015 as a commercial retail leasing and investment sales broker in Connecticut with RHYS Commercial Real Estate. At RHYS Commercial, Doug was actively involved in leasing retail space throughout Connecticut representing both landlords and tenants and added value to the firm’s existing client base.

In 2017, Doug along with his brother Rob joined Kempner Properties LLC. As a Managing Partner of the company, Doug is directly involved in every aspect of owning and growing the company’s portfolio of shopping centers and multifamily properties including acquisitions, financing, leasing, construction, and managing its portfolio. Doug is responsible for sourcing new acquisitions to expand the company’s portfolio as well as conducting market research, managing investor relations and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office. Doug has been a principal owner in the acquisition and sale of over 22 properties with a total valuation of over $115 million.

Kempner Properties LLC established in 1987 is a commercial real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition and ownership of shopping centers, retail and multifamily properties. Kempner Properties LLC currently owns a portfolio of over 30 properties primarily located in the Northeast Region of The United States and the New York metropolitan area. Included in its portfolio are grocery anchored, community and neighborhood shopping centers, freestanding retail buildings and multifamily properties.

Doug attended the University of Rhode Island and studied Economics. Doug grew up in Stamford, CT and currently resides in Manhattan and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
