Peter Kempner began his real estate career in 1981 as an office leasing broker in NYC with Gronich and Company, a boutique commercial real estate company. In 1987, Peter along with his brother Jim founded Kempner Properties based in White Plains, New York. As a Managing Partner of the company, Peter is directly involved in every aspect of owning and growing the company’s portfolio of shopping centers and multifamily properties including acquisitions, financing, leasing, construction, and managing its portfolio. Peter has been a principal owner in the acquisition and sale of over 60 properties with a total valuation of over $380 million.

Kempner Properties LLC established in 1987 is a commercial real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition and ownership of shopping centers, retail and multifamily properties. Kempner Properties LLC currently owns a portfolio of over 30 properties primarily located in the Northeast Region of The United States and the New York metropolitan area. Included in its portfolio are grocery anchored, community and neighborhood shopping centers, freestanding retail buildings and multifamily properties.

Peter received his BS in Finance from Ithaca College. Peter grew up in White Plains, NY and resides in Stamford, CT with his wife Betsy. Peter was a founder of the White Plains Business Improvement District and served on its board for over ten years. Peter also served on the board of the Stamford Connecticut Downtown Business Improvement District. Peter has two sons, Robert (35) and Douglas (32) who are Managing Partners of Kempner Properties LLC.
