Robert Kempner began his real estate career in 2011 as a commercial retail leasing broker in NYC with ABS Partners Real Estate LLC. At ABS Partners, Rob was actively involved in leasing retail space in the company’s owned portfolio throughout NYC. In 2015 Rob joined JLL’s retail team representing both landlords and tenants in leasing retail space throughout Manhattan.

In 2017, Rob along with his brother Doug joined Kempner Properties LLC. As a Managing Partner of the company, Rob is directly involved in every aspect of owning and growing the company’s portfolio of shopping centers and multifamily properties including acquisitions, financing, leasing, construction, and managing its portfolio. Rob is responsible for sourcing new acquisitions to expand the company’s portfolio as well as leading in strategic property level decisions when it comes to significant capital events and creating value for the properties through deal specific business plans. Rob is instrumental in building and preserving strong relationships with commercial real estate brokers, lenders, and the company’s partners. Rob has been a principal owner in the acquisition and sale of over 22 properties with a total valuation of over $115 million.

Kempner Properties LLC, established in 1987 is a commercial real estate investment company specializing in the acquisition and ownership of shopping centers, retail and multifamily properties. Kempner Properties LLC currently owns a portfolio of over 30 properties primarily located in the Northeast Region of The United States and the New York metropolitan area. Included in its portfolio are grocery anchored, community and neighborhood shopping centers, freestanding retail buildings and multifamily properties.

Rob received his BA in Economics from the University of Rhode Island. Rob grew up in Stamford, CT and currently resides in Manhattan. In 2016, Rob was awarded 30 under 30 rising real estate stars in Crains NY Business Journal and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
